Carnaval De Luz ist das 16. Studioalbum von U2 und das erste Album mit neuem Material seit neun Jahren.

Das Album wurde an verschiedenen Orten aufgenommen und von Jacknife Lee produziert. Die zwölf Songs beschäftigen sich unter anderem mit Spiritualität, Freundschaft, Freiheit und dem Durchhalten in dunklen Zeiten. Musikalisch soll das Album experimentellere Seiten der Band mit direkterem Songwriting verbinden.

Inhaltlich steht Carnaval De Luz im Zusammenhang mit den beiden Anfang 2026 überraschend veröffentlichten EPs Days of Ash und Easter Lily. Als verbindendes Stück wird der abschließende Song Torn genannt, ein Duett von Bono mit Dolly Parton. Der Song wurde von U2, Dolly Parton und Johnny McDaid geschrieben.

Weitere Beteiligte sind Brian Eno, der an Go (Carnaval De Luz), The Greatest Show on Earth und Can't Stop Us Now mitgeschrieben und Synthesizer beigesteuert hat, Martin Garrix als Co-Autor von Glorify, Daniel Lanois mit Pedal Steel auf Torn sowie Ryan Tedder mit zusätzlicher Produktion auf Silencio.
